Federal government deports 7 Korean nationals

Seven nationals of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) have been deported back to their country by the federal government of Nigeria.

The disclosure was made in a statement in Abuja on Wednesday, October 15, by the public relations officer of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Sunday James.

Daily Trust reports that the statement did not disclose why the Korean nationals were deported back to their country.

Legit.ng gathers that some of the deported Koreans include; Jo Sun Phil, Jang Sung Chol, Che Chun Hyok, Pak Yong Gon, R I Yong Il and Ri Hak Su. According to James, the Korean nationals were deported by the order of the minister of interior, Rauf Aregbesola. The statement read: “The comptroller general, NIS, Mr Muhammad Babandede, has carried out the deportation of seven DPRK nationals from Nigeria for life.” According to James, the Korean nationals were deported to their country of origin with the available flight on October 16, 2019, through Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja.

Meanwhile, Legit.ng previously reported that the Ghana Immigration Service was set to deport 25 Nigerian ladies arrested in the Bono East Region of the country over alleged prostitution.

The regional commander of Immigration Service Department in the Bono East Region, Chief Superintendent Enoch Annor Abrokwa, said the girls would be deported to Nigeria as soon as the process was completed. Their arrest followed the regional minister, Kofi Amaokohere’s directive to security agents to tidy up the region and chase out the unlawful elements.

Chief Superintendent Abrokwa said the country was engaging in a renewed campaign to chase out foreigners who engage in unlawful acts in the territory.

According to him, the suspected prostitutes were arrested in the Nkoranza South and Kintampo South of the region when officers of the Immigration Service and the Ghana Police Service stormed the area.
